So I was searching for clay ideas and came across this amazing artist. James Derosso. He makes clay monsters. Check him out at www.monster8all.com. Here are Mrs. Sakowski's 6th grade monsters. ;) Great job kids!

Look at all the proud grandparents and awesome kiddos! Big shout out to Ms. Goldberg this project was her idea and it was a huge hit! Mrs. Fandry the student's singing was delightful. What a beautiful display of the power of arts in school.
I think this project turned out beautifully. It was a challenge though. The loom has to have a odd number of holes even spaced. 13 is a perfect number. Setting up the warp was a bit confusing for the students but once they figured out the "across the street on the front" (of the loom) and "next door on the back" (of the loom) they were excited to move onto the next step. Next step was learning to tie knots, another challenge. Still not done new on to the over under step of weaving. This was the easy part.
Nite that this project is complete the hard work, dedication, and pride show in their smiles.
I look at these gems and wish I had a way to display them. There is no way these kiddos would let me hang on to them one second longer. They are so proud of these. The class featured here is Mrs. Ray's 4th class.
