Cave art shock!
Ms. McCall's second grade class is featured in this post. Students drew animals like the ones found in the caves of Lascaux.
Once we completed coloring I asked a student to volunteer their project for demonstration of the next step of the project. Denni offered her project I asked her three times if she was sure. She was still on board.
The students were sitting on the edge of their seats with curiosity of what I was about to do. I had been hinting to the students that I would be shocking them with the next steps. So I took Denni's artwork and crumpled it. Jaws dropped. Shock was on their faces but they all were quick to crumple their paper and the giggles and excitement was fun. The next shock was tearing the edges. What great sports. I will be posting final projects. Enjoy these smiling faces.

Art on a cart
Hello McGregor families! I am one of your new art teachers. I am super excited to be here. I started this blog to share with my student's families the exciting new things we will be learning and creating. I hope that you can take a few minutes every week to stop in and see what your children are up to. This year I will be on a cart traveling from room to room. There will be challenges but I will face them with enthusiasm and a glass half full mentality. Right now the art cart needs some love and attention. As the year goes on it will get some sprucing up. I have posted a picture below for a before example.
My main goal with this blog is to feature the exciting things we will be doing. I hold on to artwork during the year so that I have choices for art shows so please if you don't see your child's work coming home know that you can check out the blog and see what is going on here.
